As the statistics show, the average phlebotomist salary in the United States is in the neighborhood of $36,000 a year. According to published reports, the national average income for Americans is $47,000 annually. Because of the inclusion of some astronomical numbers from at least the top 15% of our population who earn over $100,000 a year, the average is a little skewed.

The statistics also demonstrate that the top one percent wage earners in the US have, incomes above $250,000 annually. According to research compiled by the AFL-CIO, the CEO’s of some of the largest companies in the United States have, seen their incomes increase to an average of $11.4 million in 2010. In fact the CEO’s of the top 299 companies listed in S&P index were able to earn a combined $3.4 billion in pay.

What these numbers expose is the fact that the incomes for some of these CEO’s could have paid over 102,000 jobs at the national average wage of 47K.
